Sonnet: God, Have Mercy On Sinners! Poem by Dr John Celes

Oh what horrendous crimes men commit, Lord!
-much shameless acts, unimaginably sad!
Such souls should surely meet the divine sword;
Your fine creation keeps turning so mad!

Men look aghast at men's misdeeds these days;
Our tolerance has ebbed beyond control;
Yet, awesome God permits man's criminal ways!
No one predicts God's ways and His prime goal!

We pray for souls of victims of such crimes;
God, give the survivors, Your healing touch;
These are the ‘end days' penultimate times;
Show mercy on the demonized men much!

O Lord, prevent all unfairness on earth!
Preserve the meaning, worthiness of birth!
