So far in life, I have suffered a lot;
I’ve had my days of enjoyment also;
For hurried wealth, I can’t my conduct blot;
The shadow of the Cross, I now follow.
And ultimately, I must reach Heaven;
Our life on earth is preparatory;
And mortal sins, we must avoid as men;
For venial sins, we go to Purgatory.
A Christian life is difficult no doubt;
But I cannot waver now anymore;
The life of truth and joy to live, we ought;
Heaven’s light-house will guide us to its shore.
To follow Christ on earth I want always,
And He will show me how to pass my days.
