Sonnet Ii: No Mountains May Arise Poem by Silas Rosalie Dumont

Sonnet Ii: No Mountains May Arise

Thou art to me a breath of freshest air
Filling my lungs with true and simple love
To be yours cannot truly quite compare
To the songs of birds, neither lark nor dove
Like water in the early morning hours
So sweet your love and caring is to me
By any sort of might nor any pow'rs
My love for you can never cease to be
No mountain can ever rise between our two hearts
Nor can there be the depth of any sea
Firmly rooted with faith, for each our part
Tall and defiant like a mighty tree
The sun may darken and the moon may fail
But evermore to thee my heart will sail
