Sonnet: Improve Earth, Man; Space Can Wait! Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Improve Earth, Man; Space Can Wait!

There are so many things to do on earth;
Let scientists spend money and time aright;
Our modern life has problems ev'r since birth;
Why sleep all day and work extra at night?

The teething challenges of earth galore
Have to be solved to help all people live;
Explore Space but Earth needs care all the more;
For billions brethren, scientists, time must give.

When poor can't get one square meal once a day,
When diseases defy the healer's skills,
When nations have debts that they can't repay,
Why tax the citizen and raise tall bills?

God placed all things in space quite far away,
To warn men not to waste time anyway!
