Sonnet - Most Men Are Selfish Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet - Most Men Are Selfish

Rating: 3.5

One state refuses water for the next!
But when it rains, the excess it must let!
Some people like to xerox-copy text!
Some force the state to write off all their debt.

Why can't one limit one's selfishness first?
Why can't one share the excess wealth one has?
Why can't one give water for men who thirst?
Who can prevent the growing of the grass?

Man becomes great by loving his neighbour;
Man turns greater when he helps him in need;
Man should not try to without reason err;
Good men avoid misdeeds but do good deed.
No Man doth bring anything when he is born;
His sins and good deeds, his soul shall adorn.
