Sonnet: My World At Times Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: My World At Times

Like insect trapped in spider’s silky web,
Like drowning man, caught in the mighty seas,
My sufferings in life don’t seem to ebb;
I feel much robbed of health and my mind’s peace.

Like man slipping into a swampy mud,
Like deer that’s trapped within a lion’s den,
My life’s flower remains ever a bud!
But God blossoms it despite evil men.

Like lamb hunted by pack of devilish wolves,
Like man fallen when pushed into a well,
The world around me mocks, rebukes, revels,
Making my life on earth almost a hell!

But I don’t bother, God is beside me;
He rescues me in time safely, surely!
