Sonnet: No Excuses, Please! Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: No Excuses, Please!

Whatever I have suffered is not all;
May be, the tempter will come back with force;
Life’s upsets that I had are rather small;
May be, there are things that will be far worse.

But, every storm will usher periods lull;
The Sun will shine after the worst downpour!
Our life will not be always gloomy/dull;
With time, God opens everyone a door.

In life, we combat evils/ reverses;
And torments suffered will be things of past;
The poet knows not when comes good verses;
We never know to when be slow or fast.

Our earthly life is full of paradox;
The man who sees must know the Lamb from Fox!
