Sonnet: On Revealing To One’s Spouse Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On Revealing To One’s Spouse

I love to tell my spouse all things I want;
I wish to divulge everything I know;
Many a time, I’m sure, I simply can’t!
I’m forced to hide some things from her (him) oh!

Soon after marriage, things are always fine;
Yet, troubles crop up faster than we think;
One lie soon leads to another in line;
There are some things, we dare not speak or ink.

Alas! This is life’s sad reality;
Yet, no one can be blamed for what happens;
Most things are not kept secret purposely;
We are compelled by circumstances tense.

Open your heart to spouse, nevertheless-
That only can give you true happiness!
