Sonnet – On The Eve Of Departure Poem by Lorenzo Lynn

Sonnet – On The Eve Of Departure

Like flocking birds, she rushed to farther place
where cold chills tepid wills and lover’s tongue
sweet words left hanging lost from saddened face
from him who loved too soon his love too young.

No will to leave, just winds whose currents blow,
she spreads her wings, full plumage, beats the air
foreshadowing the time, soon, she must go
to leave him, loving here, she – nothing – there.

Yet, interim, she takes him to her bed
full-pressing him between her arms and hips
til bursting, she explodes, her passions fed
with his intent, words writ with silent lips.

Til dawn she slept alone; he could not stay
her will to love and leave another day.
