Sonnet: One… Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: One…

Rating: 3.0

One teacher spoilt the good name of a school;
One child’s misdemeanor gave home much shame;
One unwise act earned him cap of a fool;
One faulty step in life brought him all blame.

One blunder led to ruin of the clan;
One lie made him a scoundrel forever;
One wrong punishment hardened heart of man;
One cruel word saw hatred like river.

One prudent act had saved so many lives;
One timely cry helped people nab the thieves;
One confession avoided death by knives;
One miracle and man in God believes.

One late reply and pupils good got banged!
One verdict wrong and innocents were hanged!
