Sonnet: Sometimes God Gives Us Bad Times Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Sometimes God Gives Us Bad Times

Sometimes, we’re forced to do things we don’t like,
Or given position, we always hate!
Our patience seems tested by pike,
Our sufferings don’t seem to mitigate.

Not that we don’t want to co-operate!
Should we throw principles all to the wind?
The situation is unkind like our fate;
Should we revolt or stay back with thick rinds?

At times, God tests us with a cup of gall!
And when we smile and thank Him for the drink,
He comes so nigh, without a veil or wall;
A rosy future, he will surely ink.

The humble man will soon be exalted!
Our life turns sweet which was earlier salted.
