Sonnet: The Devil’s Our Enemy Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: The Devil’s Our Enemy

No man, woman on earth is our true foe!
The devil is our real enemy;
Through men, diseases he may give us, oh!
And added strife in life by poverty.

But God has destined Satan’s destruction;
We must all stand up firmly ‘gainst his tricks;
He is the sole giver of malfunction,
And all up troubles, headaches, tussles, pricks.

Hate not the man who tries to injure you;
Hate not the man who wishes your downfall;
’Tis devils that through evil-men who do,
The havoc and the mischief for men all.

Beware the devil is our enemy,
With grace of God, our souls are kept sin free.
