I taught my students well, the best I could!
I taught them everything I knew, I did;
I taught them to avoid the vicious food;
I taught them how to do what God may bid.
But teaching is an arduous profession;
You learn to love it more in dreary times;
In some, it clings like a chronic infection;
In a few, it stimulates and always primes!
Yet, teachers turn to learners be, all life;
They never seek a fortune or a fee;
At times, they meet with academic strife;
Their love to teach in blood lies inborn, free.
Revere your teachers whenever you can;
God made the teachers, next to parents, man!
Lovingly dedicated to all great teachers
