Sonnet: Today’s World 2011 Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Today’s World 2011

The family size is small; relatives scant;
The world though huge is looking rather small!
There is no end to human needs and want!
Blame man for his misdeeds and evils all.

Man takes great risks in useless things, mundane;
He finds scarce time to think about his soul;
He is engrossed in wealth that isn’t divine;
Man’s unaware of his ultimate goal.

Most precious time and health go all awaste;
Man is aware that worldly things can’t last;
Sans conscience, with science, man lives in haste!
Yet, he won’t learn from blunders, faults of past.

‘HighTech’ has made man’s heart very selfish.
Man has forgotten Maker’s love and wish!
