Sonnet: Whither Ethics? Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Whither Ethics?

Rating: 5.0

All professions must follow ethics well;
The guidelines help to do our job with ease;
If not for ethics, life becomes like hell;
Discontented, you cannot live in peace.

But modern world has changed a lot these days;
Inspecting bodies, on ethics insist;
To circumvent this, there are many ways;
In ethics, professionals good still persist.

All spheres have turned corrupt and people fake;
The righteous persons are under duress;
Too many poisonous fish abound in lake;
Money can bring success in business.

To be unethical, most feel isn't sin;
By bribery and cheating, you can't win.
