Sorrow Poem by Kainaat Aslam

Sorrow

Rating: 5.0

I am filled with sorrow,
like there is no tomorrow
I feel so lonely at home,
like I am in a ghost city of Rome

The smile on my face was long gone,
I know I needed to move on
I was no longer looked upon
All I was, was a pawn

Tears streamed out of my eyes,
but no one ever heard my cries
I was so unwise,
that it hit me by surprise

I believed in their lies,
treating them like a prize
Now I wonder why,
why I even complied

My face is pale,
from all those false tales
You scratched me with full force of your nails,
that it left a whole path of trails

I can barely utter a word
This is absurd
I am always unheard
just like a quiet bird

I look down
No one wants to see my frown
I always have a nervous breakdown,
since I am the talk of the town

I run and run,
so close to the sun
since I am shunned
and know that I will never have someone who I can call my loved one
