Sorrow Poem by jennifer killian

Sorrow

I saw a bird yesterday,
It’s wings outstretched,
fying away from me
“a good sign” I thought
A sign of the holy spirit
It is with me
I’m on the right path

But then you saw me
And I sensed your disapproval, your disdain
And I now see what you see
And I am filled with shame, torment
And I want to die

Maybe the bird was just a bird
