Soul Poem by Prafulla Kumar Panda

Soul

I'm as gentle as the winter sunshine
also, as strong as a thousand tsunami

i'm not born to be destroyed- by air, water, fire, or a season
or be chained by the strongest- Atlas, Hercules or by Satan

or can be lured by any earthly pleasure or game
or be digested by a Dinosaur or a Blue Whale

i'm in every human; nay, in every living organism
still my existence is beyond human perception

i don't get smeared in the dirt of his action
although I am the only witness to his every karma

none but his conscience is my best companion
so, I try to counsel him in his every action

although, I'm a part of his all pain, pleasure and comfort
but like the limbs of a tortoise, I often withdraw myself

i'm shy at lust, anger, hate, greed, jealousy and ego
but never shy away from an opinion on the Day of Judgment

i'm the only clear reflection of the Supreme
elusive though, but like the musk in deer, always present in him.
