Soul Birds Poem by Margaret Everard

Soul Birds

Dedicated to a young girl of 14, and her family, who recently drowned in my area.

Death can stop many things
It's a span of time that closes;
A bird flutters away on its wings
Leaving a hint of roses

It leaves behind sorrow
And many a used tissue
An enigma becomes the 'morrow
All your previous plans fall through

But there's one thing that death can't stop
No matter how hard it tries
It can never sow a love crop
Even when a soul bird takes to the skies.
