Soul Must Be Pure Poem by Dr John Celes

Soul Must Be Pure

A married life’s like colored cloth;
A cloistered life, a pure-white garb!
A celibate avoids sex-thoughts;
All religious must live pure lives!

All forms of sin, we must avoid;
The mortal sins are soul-takers;
The clergy must be more cautious;
The devils tempt them miserably!

But God is holy in always;
Heaven abounds in holiness;
No sin-stained soul can stay with God,
Unless, He cleanses it, His way!

To fall in sin is man’s weakness;
God forgives hearts truly contrite;
Sin wounds and scars the soul somehow;
The grace of God must heal all souls!

The religious must be wary;
The devils hate them to the core;
They will not rest until they fall
Into their traps and snares, wily.

Even the empty mind can sin;
No saint is sinless or exempt;
But Christ has paid the price for sins
Of all mankind, once and for all!

But God stays by the righteous ones;
He lifts them up, each time they fall,
And fills their souls with much more grace,
Until their war with devils’ won!
