Soul Train Poem by Dieury Dumas

Soul Train

Just some cool dude
Sometimes almost nude
Doing move after move
Enjoying life with groove
Putting music in context, improve.

Dancing to everything,
Just an idea coming
Writing a classic living,
Lean on me, performance
Was so deep and powerful
My father, a nerd
Thought it was a church.

Oldies but goodies
Reminding us, Greatness!
It is not only us, today!
It is a legacy from the oldest
The youth has to perfection.

That was love for every Human!
That was peace to the World!
That was soul of the Universe!
That was harmony from the Globe!
That was unity of every kind of race!

A new era has been born
Now! We celebrate it with horn
Now! We have gain like corn
Believe me this game is still on
So perfect! Nothing will go wrong.

Don Cornelius made history
By evolving the minority
By creating a platform for unity
By groundbreaking the majority
Soul Train was so amazing
Host, fans, set and joy were blazing
We are still singing, dancing …
We are still Soul Train lining …

Every artist, every soul gang
Every song, every introduction
Every ad, every production
Was beyond imagination
Where peace, love and soul
Over flow like it was an abundant river.

Back then, Soul Train was so huge
People without peace, love and soul
Took the train to soul-city,
Soul Train visited every house, every city
Just to give peace
Just to give love
Just to give soul.

Soul Train attached genders and races
In one place together like a train
Soul Train played all kind of music
In one stage and made it rain
Soul Train freed African-American
Spirit after their body from chain
Soul Train was all time high
Every Saturday morning was the end of pain.

Soul Train had so much power
It changed the all country!
Perhaps the whole humanity!
We all know those two little words
Those put us right into the moment
Those bring us back all the memories
To relive the dances, the songs, the joy
To redo the moves, the clothes, the love
To see Don, J5, snoop dog …
To reline the Soul Train line
Soul Train, Soul Train …
