Souls Of Navels Poem by Manie Sharma

Souls Of Navels

When I laid there beside you,
could you feel me there?
My arms wrapped around you,
while stroking your hair.

Praying for your pains to settle,
kept on kissing your face.
Holding you tightly in my arms,
to give you love & solace

As your last breath grew closer,
we laid there peacefully together.
With one wish in my heart & soul,
that I wanted you forever.

Watching your every breath,
praying that it wasn't your last.
But time was so cruel,
went by; too quick...too fast.

For a moment I was away,
you took final breath of air.
I yelled! ! & yelled! ! & yelled! !
you were not anymore – to hear.

Wanted to wake you up,
please Mum.....open your eyes.
Tell me this is a nightmare,
And not our goodbyes.

Holding your beautiful face,
prayed you'd breath again.
I wasn't ready for you to go,
Couldn't admit this severe pain.

Realizing - you are now in peace,
not suffering anymore.
With the new birth of your soul,
your body no longer be sore.

Holding you close; squeezed you tight,
with tears - tried to say goodbye.
Lost you Mum – my earthly GOD,
all my heart could do is - CRY.

Slowly I got up; desiring in vain;
so much with you to stay.
Leaned over to give one last kiss,
was so hard to walk away.

Mum; you are my entire world,
will miss you so very much.
Wish I could feel your loveable cuddle,
your soft and gentle touch.

Hope we meet again,
in the radiant world of LORD.
Once again! ! ! ! ! !
I, as your daughter,
you, as my earthly GOD.

Till then remember ………just remember.……
always and forever,
our souls of navels are in touch.
Always and forever,
your baby girl loves you so very much.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
For my dying mom. I was with her the whole night till early morning when she breathed her last. Moment to moment my feelings for her during that night. Dedicated to her from the core of my heart nd soul.
She is still with me; in my haert - in my brain - in my veins - in my blood - in my emotions, in my soul; moving around with me guiding me.
Even after so many years; I can still feel her presence, hear her voice. May her soul rest in peace nd May she become my mother once again.
