South Island, New Zealand Poem by Richard Provencher

South Island, New Zealand

Piercing sunlight, sandblast
bright
spotlights Dusky Sound's calm

scudding clouds approach
sky's edge
humped hills surrounding the
view.

A panorama of beauty.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was born and raised in what I consider a sheltered environment, where mines and lumber mills abounded. Traveling meant reading much and looking at beautiful pictures which I used to stimulate my creative thoughts. This poem is in honour of a beautiful picture.
