Spaced Out Poem by Michael Franco

Spaced Out

Rating: 5.0

So many spreading synthetic sadness to poison society,
Making it sound splendid so someone will seek the sick thrill.
Sterling specs of simple solemn solutions to life's soliloquy,
Sold to students on 'safe' streets without a second thought.
Sacrificing the state of the world, setting the snare, snagging subjects to their product.
Slaves to the sensational satisfaction, it's an epidemic swallowing cities never slowing never stopping.

It is a fine example of poetry with a purpose. The poem talks about the menace of drugs in society. Who will take the lead to fight it- parents, teachers, holy-men or government agencies?
