Sparkling Waves Poem by Sara Bortoluz

Sparkling Waves

Now I know you are like me
majestic wild Sea…
You sparkle light
with the loving kiss of Sun
and even gleam at night
when stars are shining bright.
Like me
you love the caress of the wind
and you rejoice in the sweet arms of sunset.
And I know for sure
your deep secrets can only be heard
in the pink embrace of sunrise
when only seagulls are awake
and mermaids still softly sing…

When the winter comes, you are still there
where no one wants to stay,
even if you cannot shine everyday
in your heart still whispers a silent pray…
You are neither angry nor frustrated
because of the slaps of the naughty wind
and your waves rise in frothy laces…
With the changing weather
you've just learned
a new way to dance
and you know time has to pass
before a new spring again comes…
And you are laughing at the clouds
while you dream the moon
that they hide jealously behind.

You only want to fight for who you are,
you are like me
majestic wild sea…
You have never surrendered to the storm
since you were born…
You are the wave
that never wants to die
in the rude embrace of sand…
You are the wave that never breaks
to the harsh touch of the rocks…
And when cliffs challenge your rebel soul
you proudly blossom
in thousands pearls.
