Special Someone Poem by Virginia Cairns

Special Someone

For years I have been praying
Asking, begging, pleading
For one thing, one person

I have been searching for Mr. Right
Looking high and low
Under rocks, in dark alleys

Wishing he would show
He would appear out of nowhere
and rescue me from myself

I don't want someone perfect
I want someone with flaws
Someone who will complete me

I need someone who will accept me
Who will cherish me
Have me through the good and the bad

He has to need me
As much as I need him
Even though I am imperfect

I need my missing puzzle piece
To make me whole
Strengthen me

I think I have finally found you
In the most unexpected person
In an unusual way

Are you really him?
Is what I am feeling real?
Or are you an illusion?

We talk constantly
And you shower me with words of love
Treating me like a princess

I am pinching myself
To make sure I am not dreaming
That this is for real

I plan on enjoying every day with you
Loving you whole heartedly
Not holding back anything

You are amazing
You are everything I have ever wanted
I can honestly say I Love you
