হে ব্রহ্মাণ্ড—

সৃষ্টির এ বিশাল ছায়াপথে,

আলিঙ্গন করেছো আমায়

উপহার দিয়েছো এ অনুসন্ধিৎসু মন ।

কতখানি তার করেছি উপযোগ!

এত আকুলতা এত মনোযোগ

কিবা তার মহিমা অতিদূর উপভোগ ।



[ Oh vast and boundless universe—

Hugged on your creative galaxy diverse,

Gifted me with a curious mind full of quest,

How often have I put it to the test,

No matter how much I yearn to grasp it near

Gusto of its magnificence remain afar. ]

মৌলিক বিজ্ঞানের বৈজ্ঞানিকের সূক্ষ্মবীক্ষণ,

ফলিত বিজ্ঞানের বৃহৎ বীক্ষণ,

অনুবাদন বিজ্ঞানের অনুপ্রস্থ বীক্ষণ;

একীভূত করেছ এ ক্ষুদ্র ঝিকুটে ।



[ The microscopic lens of science pure,

Expansive gaze of applicative lure,

The traverse manifestation of translational cure,

All have converged in this tiny cerebrum. ]

উদ্ঘাটনের পথে এগিয়েছি পায়ে পায়ে

দিবস-রজনী অভিনিবিষ্ট প্রয়াসে,

একাগ্র মননে খুঁজেছি নির্জনে

ভগ্নাংশ প্রমাণ অনুমান উপমান ।

হন্য হয়ে হেতু এষণ

এমনই তীব্র প্রণোদনা ।



[ On the path of revelation, tandem trod

Through days and nights, relentless and odd,

In solitary contemplation, I sought,

Fragmented evidence, inference, simile wrought.

Hunt of cause with wild ardor,

Driven by such an intense fervor. ]
