Spree Poem by Saswat Mishra

Spree

Why do they discover
New species
Do you know why Silver
No
Haha
Don't pose naive before me
They are just like you
They are an exploring curiois mass
They explore new places
There they diacover new species of plants and birds and animals
They give them names
And they feel that they are their bosses
And they have the power over
Those discovered fresh
Batch of flora and fauna
They feel like defining those discovered fresh batch
Define by etymology
Supports finishing up things
So
They feel an urge to finish
Even the last drop of blood of the last bird
Of the species
Whuch was new just a fozen days prior

We just see
The idols of dodos in museums
Or the extinct wren
In photo albums
Of old bird lovers
Or read how the sea cow
Tasted
In some exotic cook book

Don't they resemble you Silver
Don't they
You came to me
Perhaps I was a new bird to you
When the initial pleasure of the discovery was over
You started the killing spree
Of me
Of me
