Spring Poem by Melody Song

Spring

Spring is the
Glass of water that relieves the
Thirst of a brutal winter.
Now, just as my thirst was beginning to be
Sated, hands come as a
Frozen whiteness and rip the
Life water from my grasp.

Young plants struggle
To push up against their new burden,
An enemy thought long gone.
Weak and small,
Reaching up fingers like a body
Slipping beneath the waves.

The sun hides his face as if
Turning away from the cold
Misery here on Earth.
Angry steel clouds send down their
Sharp white arrows,
Battling,
Fighting against the coming of Spring.
