Springtime Poem by Marilyn Lott

Springtime

Rating: 5.0

Don’t you love the springtime?
As we wait impatiently
For wind to blow in changes
Just for you and me.

One day we’ll have some sunshine
The next day it will rain
Don’t forget the icy sleet
Then sunshine yet again.

The buds on all the trees will burst
And blossoms fill the air
Oh yes, I love the springtime
It can lead us anywhere.

From the fist-sized pink of the tulip trees
Then tiny blues abound
As forget-me-nots peek out their heads
Yellow daffodils surround.

The azaleas and rhododendrons
Make their yearly bright display
As freshness heads t’ward summer
New excitement every day!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Oh Marilyn, you have taken me on a walk to a paradise in the every verse of this exquisite write. I can feel spring's scent and its colours swirl around my head... Nature never dies - even during winter buds that seem to be lifeless only doze and calmly breathe in their anticipation for the warming changes of spring... Weather odds are needed to keep all in the right balance - it has to rain to make everything feel and see the beauty of life giving sun rays... There’s no charm and spice in monotony :)
