By Jemma Ivan Age 9 (2004)
In the springtime we are blessed with colours
And the sun is shining bright
All you can see is the blossom that's pink
And you see them glowing at night
The dew is fresh on the grass
And the daffodils pretty too
And when the sun i shinging
It's always shining on you.
It looks like glitter on the grass
And crystals on the trees
You hear the singing of the birds
And the buzzing of the bees.
You hear the cracking of the eggs
The swishing of the trees
The calling of the birds
And the herds of squabbling geese.
Then the flowers start to grow without a sound
And the mist drifts through the sky
The mice are sleeping in the long grass
It's nearly summer now, spring goodbye.
