Star Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Star

She was the brightest of them all
radiating unfathomable beauty.
But she had a bigger hole in her
that nobody else could see.
Material things, broken hearts;
she tried to feed the big black hole.
Once the brightest star in the sky
she watched her light slowly die.
She got emptier, emptier
‘til there was no light in her soul.
The black hole then consumed her
with a trace of her light, no more.
