Stare Into The Void And The Void Stares Back Poem by Caroline Bulleck

Stare Into The Void And The Void Stares Back

Shatter the mirrors around
Shatter myself
But I only find more aspects of myself
Glaring from the ground
With bloodied fists I smash it all
Ground it all fine as sand
I should be lost within the pink sand
Another reflection makes my smile fall
The countenance always stares back
Unless I can't perceive
Remove the eyes, so the faces can't perceive
I dive into the darkest black
Madness ripped from my skull
Deafening is the blind, bleeding pain
See nothing. I laugh despite the pain
Suddenly, again, the face is full
I didn't just stare and be stared at by the void!
The void was always inside! The void is me!
Inseparable! The faces, the madness IS me!
I scream. I curse. I bleed. I cannot kill the void.
