Staring At Her Poem by Candace Johnson

Staring At Her

A long time ago,
or not so long ago,
you loved me.
You didn't have to pretend.
You weren't eyeing that other girl,
the one you think is prettier than me.

But now during this time,
all you do is hold onto this relationship.
It makes more pain than you think,
why can't you just let us go,
instead of making the pain in my heart ache more and more,
with each day you stare at her instead of me.
