Starlight - Starbright Poem by Carl F. Stratton

Starlight - Starbright

Rating: 4.8

Darkness is all around
Evening has gone to bed
One lonely star appears
Just above my head

I would be quite saddened
If this was it's destined plight
But soon a million others
Will illuminate this night

That shall be too late I fear
I must speak my wishes now
It has to be the first star
To present my plea or vow

So I beg of you this moment
Oh radiant and beautiful star
That brightens up the universe
From a distance oh so far

Please make the world more gentle
Silence the cannons roars
Omit all the senseless hatred
And put an end to all the wars.
