Starman Poem by Clive Culverhouse

Starman

Rating: 5.0

one sugar in his tea
just like me
shoes double knotted

but he did like
to look at the stars,
for fleeting moments
he was out there
and in that stare
stars knew him

he didn't say
where he was from
but if I had to guess
I'd say The Pleaides

I knew a starman like that once. In the process of meting out sugar lumps and double-knotting shoelaces, he collapsed into me. Your imagery is poignant and telling.
