Stars Poem by Shirley Harrison

Stars

Oh, nine spheres of wonder
how beautiful you shine
lighting my heart
when I look up at night's sky

you're so far away
yet always in my dreams
when the sun goes to bed
and moon shines her beams

the way that Orion and the Saucepan does peer
behind clouds maybe, just maybe you're near?

when I look up to you, on a warm summer's night
heart fluttering fiercely, I simply just sigh

even on nights, that I'm sad and alone
you, my stars in paradise
shine down from beyond.
