Statistics Poem by Jon Yttri

Statistics

So what if man stands six foot two
Weighs 228 from head to shoe?
He could have mass that's solid hard,
Or he could be full of lard.
Or amount of folks within city limits
Because a century ago that was all the people in it?
Today the town has so much grown
It doesn't end outside the zone.
Why stress Christian's or Mike's batting average in the game
When a walk can get you up to first base just the same?
What is the significance of my date of birth?
Unless you know astrology
That figure has no worth.
What is so vital about season where we're at?
Spring day can be deep in snow
While winter day can be temperate.
Who cares what most people think
When their opinion's heard?
Unless they have green paper
Solons won't heed a word.
