By now, what is well known to all is Covid
What pounces unbeknownst is also Covid
Pandemics in yore were person-centric
this novel one doth corrode very social fabric
All ideologies crumbled down to incertitude
and all the philosophies fumbled with ineptitude
and got crunched under its tentacles, new
highlighting Darwin's survival of the fittest few
Shrines once conched and echoed panegyric
Now barren, succumbing to a tragic covidal magic
Regionalism and religions proved to be a big myth
so also haves and have-nots, when new strains take a birth
No cure yet, albeit an arrival of vaccine authentic
till then masking and safe-distancing should be our lives' rubric
