Stay True, Be You Poem by Carolyn Blackmon

Stay True, Be You

This is the season to stay true, be you
I'm unashamed and unapologetically myself
Inside my soul is saying, Search Meee, Search Me Lord
Because my heart is deceitful, but I love me some you
Yes, I love me some you

It wasn't until I met you, that I accepted Cee
I'm no longer pretending to be, I've accepted I'm Me
I was different from the start, created to be apart
And now I stand firm on your creation, I am who you created

Yes Lord, this is my season to be true
and I intend to, because
I am saved
I am chosen
I am free
I am a Queen
Queen Cee

I'm no longer who I used to be, because He turned It!
Now I thank the Lord for working on me
I'm not perfect, but He's worth It
No longer shall I compromise my identity for pretenders and counterfeiters

I've come to myself
I've come to my truth
Now its time to be you

So as He continues to reveal pieces of me
in the mean time, in between time,
I can only be Cee, staying true to me
and If nothing else today, remember the things I say
This is the season to stay true, be you.
