Stays The Same Poem by Timothy Long

Stays The Same

I'm jealous of others unfortunately, they have what I have not,
never did I receive what they had from the beginning,
only small crumbs left behind,
why is it so hard out here?
Getting better they will always claim,
life staying the same brings me to shame,
I'll survive feeling a little more paralyzed,
being wise is fine,
while the strong one's die,
if you find family,
don't you cry,
nothing should've crushed us,
leading on the game of life,
we will have to restart or move on,
years of memories lost,
all just for a fading cold love story,
it made me grow up,
away from your shadow I have to be,
I wanted things to stay the same,
while you needed it to grow apart to grow up,
the less I need,
the more it disappears,
maybe one day the distance will cease,
but your mind is made up,
so is mine,
my regrets will pass one day,
the scars will become detached,
only the care will remain after it's all done.
