Steps Poem by Anthony Daniels

Steps

Took a step through the meadow
Of lavender inside my mind
I look, alas, I have no shadow
No memory is left to find

A wayward thought surrounds me
Bounding bold and free
Intrusive bars and gnarls at me
Of nothing I can see

The paths in the meadow of mind go down
In any direction you walk
You may look at where you came and frown
For you're always back up at the top

Progress around you comes to a halt
Never a way to go up
Stuck in a dance of a twisted waltz
Where the steps are too fast and abrupt

So fall down where you're meant to be
Lay in the meadows of mind
There's nothing left for you to see
Nothing for you to find
