This skinny line poem (a term used by the Minnesota poet Robert Bly} could be paired with the Poet-Seer's prophecy of a new human existence, which might on earth but is not of earth. But there is a proviso at the very end which startled me, namely WHEN YOUTH BE PAST PERHAPS IT BE TOO LATE. I sincerely hope NOT. Youth is a wonderful thing but it's very nature is to be absorbed into age. That's its only destiny. But we old duffers are still those glorious young men! Every past deserves its future, and we are the future of those youths!
