STINGS OF DEMOCRACY
All have been lured into elusive democracy
Not knowing the antidote for "Demo-crazy"
Real intent is a mirage and hazy
Kept its pledge on paper and evasive to uncover the cloudy
Democracy; an umbrella that covers the professional pilfers,
It shun the quality and cuddle the quantity dealers
Pledges egalitarianism and exhibit oligarchy debaters
Cunningly hijacked the power from the electorates and named them commoners
Democracy; kept the murders on sit with immunity
Left the victims in hope with uncertainty
Raises the flag of servitude like that of liberty
Corrodes the posterity through the democratic officials in the polity
We all succumb to give our legitimacy to representatives
They represent their belly because they are indeed "representa-thieves"
Songs of liberty now sounds like that of elegy
Songs of triumph now sounds like a dirge for sympathy
Democracy recruited goons
That added salt to our wounds
And turned a tower to desolate
Subscribes to the likes of Pontius-Pilate
We thought we have arrived into the era of "ijoba alagbada"
Oblivious to recognize in them the incarnate of Adolf Hitler
Oh! Democracy on paper happened to be sugar and a lover
While the one in practical happened to be an enemy and a murder!
We all knelt down to hang the authority on the throne
On standing, we find it beyond the reach of our own
We all hands up to surrender our vigour
And in turn we get a torment as tutor
