Stolen Heart Poem by Marion Souma

Stolen Heart

A single day behind me, one more day I've made it through.
Knowing you'll be so close to where I am,
This day filled with unbearable emotion, confusion and blank, vast spaces.
I feel split second of pure desperation break through - all of it far beyond my control.
Pondering, planning and playing it over and over in my mind's eye - you will look into my eyes once more.
I'd burn at the stake if the smell, the sound, the crackling of wood and the echoes of my screams would have given you the slightest clue.
I fight with everything inside of me - but it's impossible to hide your constant presence within -
One huge test, and I'm failing miserably - this life lesson, this exam.
I try to forget - giving all I've got to notice all the different faces.
I can't help but feel like it's gone,
Darkness,
Emptiness,
The deepest part of my soul you stole…
