Stolen Heart Poem by Mikayla Buthelezi

Stolen Heart

She loved him she gave herself to him but he refused to give her back

Now she's lost and so empty searching for the pieces of her that were left, across the floor, scattered and a bleeding pain that hides each story to how she burned at his comforting lies
And
The deep open wounds tearing her further and further from watching her eyes cry out a thousand words her lips would never be able to touch because of the striking pain that leaves one paralyzed to the reality that leaves time running in slow motion

But she looks for him everyday to return her back,

Return her stolen heart that suffers everyday
That bears burdens and pains that stab her at night like a dagger

He brought this to her,
He did this to her,
He dug the knife deep into her sinking pain that he knew already existed

So she comes to claim her back from him
She asks him for her stolen heart

Thats all he could ever do for her

Please,
She begs him because everyday without her leaves her numb to the living air but her dead body only thinks and dreams of her

So all she pleads with him is for her to come back home

She loved him she gave herself to him and poured out all her waterfall of love

Isn't that enough?
Why all this pain?

What more damage does he want to cause to her, who is already broken?

Please,
She begs him

Return her stolen heart

She misses her warmth that made her smile

She is what keeps her living so please don't take her life away

Return her stolen heart

That is all she asks
There are nights that grow cold to the thought of her loss

Every day and turning night she searches for her

But each day the grieve fades into a dead stillness that leaves her feeling lost and empty

As time pasts through her yet around her it falls slow to all the laughing, loud screams, hugs and kisses in the background

This only forms attacking memories to her who once loved him whole-heartedly even when he stole her heart

Summers that once felt warm and like a dream
the love bloomed to the sun alive in the cold winter that was a home she and him created

The smiles,
Laughs,
Hugs,
And
A love wrapped around the sheets on the bed

That took her for a drive through red coloured clouds

But then the truth to an angel in love falling down a summer sky of red coloured clouds

Is that her home opened a door to a winter of fights,
Screams,
Crys
And
A hatred that formed a cold silence around the sheets on the bed

The summers faded and the winter came more, along with some heavy rains
That broke her heart day-by-day in a season that never seemed to change

She knew this love was never perfect  through the drive of this affair the seasons always changed but in her home the winters and rainstorms stayed

The constant pain poking her heart that had to comfort her drowning eyes that saw him stop loving her

The constant pain tearing her heart that had to cover her ears, that had to hear him say someone else's name

The constant pain stabbing holes in her heart, that her heart had to calm her screams that his mouth exclaimed the loss of love for her

While she still loves him
Calls him imperfect
And
Sees the dead light that once shined upon their love still alive

The constant pain that now breaks her heart as she sees her give more and more of what's not there anymore to him, who's heart stays steel to her efforts and she hugs her worn out body that cripples in depression as she befriends the floor

He sees her pain growing into comfort so he steals her heart from her because he can't stand her pain not flourishing in agony

She wakes up and only wishes for her death due to the loss of her heart
That she pleads with him to surrender

'Please give me my heart back,

You have taken my joy and all I am just don't take my life away from me'

Each day he refuses

As he waits for her crippling pain to grow as tall as Mount Everest,

It soon becomes too unbearable

And with the evil and shallow void in him

He releases her heart but throws her to the floor where she breaks into nothing
But the pieces of her are left scattered across the floor
She crys,
screams
her pain and hatred out
to the loss of her heart

She leaves herself as she sees her life is taken from her

So all she does is sit there to where she remembers her heart's love and grace

That held inside her true self that now seemed lost
It seemed as though the lifeline of a ruby had shattered and melted

Her passions,
Loves,
Smiles,
Dreams
And
Hopes

All sink into the lifeline of the ruby red paste that thickly sits in a puddle

As all there's left is the memory of a stolen heart,
Lost love
And
A broken girl

Her life was taken away from her that day as her love was lost in all the crippling pain and scolding winters that the summers could never bring back

A broken girl who's self lays scattered across the floor

And a stolen heart who's happiness never needed him but always loved her through the rainstorms that bring a winter breeze that caused her an unbearable pain but her heart found peace in the comfort she gave her

She lost all but nothing
