Stomped Upon Poem by Kelcie Harm

Stomped Upon

Am I worthy enough to sit by your side
Or shall I bow at the base of your pedestal?
Kiss at your feet to prevent the stomping…

Easy enough for your reach
As if an object for your limited desire.

The control you hold, is it not the control I allow you to hold?

Don’t take for granted the beauty that is within me.
I know my worth
I give you myself, A gift of my heart for you to hold.

You must cherish and nurture this gift.
Once left alone to bruise and soil it shall lay with the earth below.
Lie under the filth and grim, that you have stomped upon it.
