Stone And Stream Poem by ashok jadhav

Stone And Stream

I stood beside the river's bend,
Where waters danced through rock and reed;
The trees had grown for countless years,
Yet man's brief life had little heed.
The mountains rose with patient grace,
Their peaks untouched by fleeting time;
They watched the rise and fall of kings,
And heard both sorrow and the rhyme.
The wind would stir the ancient grass,
The sun would warm the meadow wide;
While we, who thought our footsteps long,
Were swallowed by the rolling tide.
The river sang of lives gone past,
Yet still it flowed through storm and sun;
Each fleeting joy, each fleeting grief,
Was touched, then vanished, one by one.
Yet in that endless, steadfast world,
The heart finds solace, faint but sure;
Though human life is swift and small,
Nature endures, and will endure.
So walk among the hills and streams,
And mark the fleeting pulse of men;
For while we fade, the earth remains,
And life flows on, again, again.
