Story Of A Soldier - Poem by Christopher Larz Price

Beginning to embark on A wonderful journey
The beat leads an emcee about to be concerning
A field he'll travel through
Unravel the news so quickly dispersing.
Enemies emerging, to the first thing
Bursting ahead on a hated battlefield
Mercy is discrete so let the blood spill
Another trained to kill
Smothers a heart filled with regret
Brothers in arms, closely follows his steps
Bodies quickly drilled with hollows and led
Lucky to survive, amputated, bottles of meds
Turmoil lingers in the head, of an irate soldier
Significantly pressed to depression, passing nights get colder
Over and Over
the dismay replays
Hating god, forced to living this way
Family tore apart
No hope, to cope with a beautiful wife
And daughters so smart
Disabled of daily circumstances
Hurts to manage when he glances in disgust
Pondering, as his wife dances to a song from when they fell in love
To a brain now flooded with acts of heartless courage
Family seeking scriptures and verses
To prove god's purpose, to bring back the husband and father they once knew
Story of a soldier fighting for the
Red, White and Blue..
