Story Of My Life Poem by Alfred Ramos

Story Of My Life

If you could read the story of my life
All the pages would be faded
As the years pass by I miss you more
I know now I should have waited
In another time and more favorable light
I would have seen the truth
The orange sun against the coming night
Burns both ends of the candle of my youth
Now I have a wound that just won’t heal
With no explanation as to how I feel
What sound does a heart make when it breaks
But a thousand aches won’t fix the mistakes
Now the wind screeches past me like an alley cat
My mind remains foggy not knowing where you are at
Is it some crazy side effects
As it grows, it spreads a story so complex
The moon glow has lost its’ allure
A pale stain overhead I’m sure
Just a tainted memory of days gone by
Is all I have, to look me in the eye
I wrote this story in all its’ glory
Now all I have left is to take inventory
